Marlin 1894 stainless in .38/357

Still a virgin - might get it out and shoot it in a few weeks.

Been loading up a few rounds of .357 in readiness for it Smiley

SWEEEEEEET! But be warned, they are addictive in 45LC. I have an Henry Big Boy 45LC(also un shot, as of yet) AND a Rossi model 92 in 45LC due in on Monday. Oh well, the Big Boy cost me almost nothing, as I traded near straight up with a homemade AR15, at a dealership....and if I were to privately sell yet another AR I have on hand, the Rossi, and ove half of my re-loading stuff will be paid for, and I'll still have an AR!

Sorry for jacking the thread man, great looking rifle, I'm sure you'll enjoy, range reports and more pics when possible? grin

Just arrived, 6Feb12...

Winchester model 94, pre-64 (Father bought it in High School), in .32 Winchester Special. I took my first deer with that rifle, and try to hunt with it every year! I have no children, will pass it on to my nephew when he is old enough to appreciate it!
Winchester model 94, post-64, in 30-30 Winchester. Playing around with it, and it will be my lever/brush gun, if the nephew turns out to be a hunter?

I don't mean to highjack the thread, but I have a question about a lever gun... I have a guy that has a nice 357 lever action, Winchest 94 and wants to sell it. What is it worth? Looks very clean from what I can tell. Any suggestions?

My new Rossi 357, 20inch round barrel arrived.  Wow, it's a bit different than the blue one I sold:

This is a stock photo, don't know why the stock looks scratched.  Mine looks great!

The blue was a bit rough, but really responded to the Steve's Gunz action job (done by me in about 20 minutes).  It had very basic sights too.  I lightened the trigger and magazine spring as part of smoothing it out.

The stainless gun, at least this stainless, is very smooth, the front sight is a gold bead with a very cool (don't know what to call it) rear sight.  The trigger is nice from the factory, and the magazine spring is good to go.  I did replace the plastic magazine follower with a metal one, cleaned it and lubed it.

I'm thinking that's about it. No Steve's action job needed. Any further smoothing will be from shooting thousands of rounds through it.

Did I say, it's a pretty looking thing...

I have a Rossi 92 45 Colt with 24" octagon barrel in blued and case hardened finish. I've since done the Steve's Gunz tune to it making it really slick for cowboy action shooting. For those with a Rossi you might want to try it yourself. http://store.stevesgunz.com/
